Thomas (Tom) Hulst
President

Prior to joining Ariel Re Tom held numerous positions within the General Re Group, most recently as Vice President and Treaty Account Executive responsible for both the Mid Atlantic region and leading the development of Property Catastrophe business in North America. He began his career as a Facultative Underwriter in New York and Chicago. In 1993 he relocated to Bermuda as part of the team forming Starr Excess Liability Insurance Company, a high excess liability insurer sponsored by AIG and General Re. In 1997 he joined Gen Re Financial Products in New York as Vice President, North American Marketing where he was responsible for the marketing of structured finance and derivative products to both Life and Property Casualty insurance companies. From 2000-2002 Mr. Hulst served as Head of Marketing for Gen Re Capital Consultants, a subsidiary of General Re that provides financial and strategic consulting services to insurance companies. Mr. Hulst graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan and holds a MBA degree with honors from Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Business
