Thomas Rothenberger - Branch Manager, Zurich Office
Thomas is responsible for managing the Zurich branch. In his executive role he is coordinating client management and strategic direction of the Credit & Surety line of business. He has held numerous positions within Swiss Re in Zurich, New York and London and most recently was Head of Underwriting for all credit re/insurance businesses (a.o., Credit & Surety, Political Risk, Infrastructure and Bank Trade Finance). Starting in Credit & Surety underwriting for Latin America, he broadened his credit experience by executing various portfolio management transactions in reinsurance and capital markets including the lead of the first indemnity based credit reinsurance securitization Crystal Credit Ltd. in 2006. Prior to joining Swiss Re Thomas started his career 18 years ago in UBS as credit analyst in corporate lending.
Thomas holds an MBA from St Gall University/Switzerland, and is an alumni of Stanford University CA
